As wedding season winds down, I’m using this shoulder season to prepare for 2026 and dream up new designs.

This year, some of my favourite creations featured delicate wafer paper florals. While I love fresh blooms, there’s something truly unique about these handmade petals. A Tail to Remember 🦚

When M reached out in June for their vow celebration cake, they pictured something with all the elegance of a peacock. As a wedding cake designer in Victoria, BC, I loved bringing their vision to life. We began with ideas inspired by feathers and eventually created lush wafer-paper florals in teal and deep blue, brushed with gold leaf. Matching cupcakes topped with buttercream rosettes in the same rich palette completed the look, coming together as a luxurious feather-inspired display for their Vancouver Island celebration at St. Ann’s Academy.

When M reached out in June for their vow celebration cake, they pictured something with all the elegance of a peacock. As a wedding cake designer in Victoria, BC, I loved bringing their vision to life. A Seaside Soirée

Just a few days before their wedding, J reached out with a vision, a vintage heart cake inspired by a few I’d made recently at @seaciderevents. Normally, I wouldn’t have the capacity to take on an order so last minute, but I just couldn't turn this one down.

For the design, we matched the blush tones of the cake to the bridesmaids’ dresses, perfectly tying into the day’s palette. Inside was strawberries and cream, sweet, simple, and just for the two of them to share.

Sea Cider remains one of my favourite venues on Vancouver Island, and I always love the chance to deliver a wedding cake here.

This little strawberry cutie was a last-minute addition to L + C’s wedding at @seaciderhouse, and I’m so glad it made the lineup. Inspired by a picnic-style celebration cake topped with fresh berries, we gave it a twist and decorated with hand-piped buttercream strawberries instead. L & C reached out earlier this year with the sweetest vision: not just one wedding cake but an entire cake family. They had seen one of my cakes in the March April 2025 edition of @ediblevanisle and asked me to create a shorter version with the same soft romantic palette.

Because C has a gluten sensitivity, I put together a special gluten free tasting box so they could both enjoy every flavour. When you are searching for your dream wedding cake in Victoria, everyone should be able to try a slice. That is why I make every effort to accommodate allergies by modifying my base recipes to offer dairy, gluten, and nut free options.

Once the flavours and designs were finalized, L sent over the most detailed spreadsheet with every cake, flavour and cake stand mapped out. I loved bringing her vision to life.

We started with three cakes but decided to add a fourth. The strawberry cake quickly became my favourite, with cute buttercream strawberries on the outside to match the lemon strawberry filling inside.

All four cakes shared the same vintage pink palette so they felt perfectly cohesive, just like a family.

I love creating custom wedding cakes at @seaciderhouse. Every time I am there, it takes me back to my own wedding day, and it means so much to be able to create new memories for other couples in this stunning Vancouver Island venue.

The Eleanor

This lemon raspberry cake is inspired by our very first cake customer turned assistant baker and forever friend. This cake is all pink and orange with girlie pop summer vibes and feels exactly like Eleanor herself. The florals are straight from my mom’s garden in Comox, BC which makes it even more special.

When I started this business I never imagined it would bring people like her into my life. From helping out at our market stand at @sidneystreetmarket to jumping in the kitchen for wholesale bakes for @roastvictoria, @gigisitalianfoods and @the_rebelgarage, she became so much more than a kitchen helper. Even though the business has grown and life has gotten busier, your help and support in those early days are a huge part of why we are here today.

A booked her August wedding cake with me earlier this year and recently reached out to order a cake for her bridal shower.

She envisioned a light pink cake with vintage piping, dark/light pink floral accents, and pink bows… and my answer was YES, YES, and YES! After a little refinement, we landed on a half-height, two-tier 6”/8” heart cake, the perfect size for 30 guests.

This cake was such a joy to create, combining all of my favourite design elements. Thank you so much, A, for sharing your beautiful vision with me!

The result? A chai tea latte–flavoured cake that captured their style and gave them the sweetest moment to cut, taste, and celebrate just the two of them.

B first reached out by phone, asking if I had a storefront downtown. We connected right away over the Victoria Public Market closure, then quickly got to the heart of the call - she was looking for a rainbow unicorn cake to celebrate her granddaughter’s 4th birthday.

After a few emails and a follow-up call with B and her daughter, we finalized the flavour and design. On the morning of the party, we did something a little different. It was a colder Saturday, so we let the cake start softening an hour before delivery—something we don’t usually do, as our cakes are transported very cold to protect them. But we wanted to make sure it would be just right when it came time to cut.

My husband hand-delivered the cake to their picnic at Beacon Hill Park and helped with setup to make sure it looked picture-perfect. B and their daughter were so warm and kind, and took the time to compliment our business and everything we’ve built with you all over these last two years.

It meant more than they probably knew.
